Birthday trip!!!

Mike and I have been planning a get-a-way. We've decided on New York for my birthday. We're flying into Buffalo to see Niagara Falls and then off the NYC for three days!!! I'm so excited!!!! We're going to see the Statue of Liberty and a Broadway musical on my birthday!!! We're going to see Rock of Ages, a show with music from all of my favorite bands (Journey, Foreigner, Bon Jovi....you get the idea). All I an say is I'm planning taking TONS of pictures, so be fore-warned!!! We still have a couple of weeks until the trip, but I'm so-o-o-o excited. Stay tuned, we've got more soccer and activities between now and then.

Field Trip

My 3D class met at the Crow Asian Art Museum to watch Tibet monks make a sand madala. It is very interesting. They started this on Monday and will be finished tomorrow. When it is finished, they will bless the sand and dismantle it. They give some of the sand to the members of the audience and then the rest goes into a flowing body of water, so that the blessed sand will bless any thing it touches. Afterwards, I got a couple shots of the great view downtown,

Soccer win!!!

Today Megan's team played a team from Cedar Hill. Unfortunately, they were a younger team in the wrong division. I lost count of the score around 12-0. We didn't have any substitutes to put in and give our hot shots a rest. The opposing team's coach walked on the field and called the game before it was over. When the coaches went to shake hands, the opposing coach shook our coach's hand and would not let go. He wanted to know why he didn't pull his players. We shouldn't have played as hard, his players were small and we shouldn't have tried as hard. Mike informed him he was playing in the wrong division. Unfortunately, that sort of thing does happen. Just because you are a younger team, you need to blame your association for putting you in the A Division (best teams in the league). Our girls have been taught to play hard, not to play down to a lesser team. The girls will be playing in tournaments after the season, representing Duncanville, They have to play hard and consistent if they want to be successful.

Here are a few pictures from the day.

Maddie is doing great! She and Sassy are starting to play together. Sassy will sit and wait for Maddie to go by and will pounce on her or will chase her tail. It's really funny. Matt went to his friend's house, and carried her in the pocket of his hoodie.

Another new baby.

Matt got a new baby tonight. A friend of mine told us about her. She is a pure white lab and about 6 weeks. He named her Maddie. Sassy did so well with her. She did a lot of sniffing, but no hissing or claws. It is so cute.

Great Saturday!!

What a great day!! We started the day off with a victorious soccer game!!! We won 6-0. The team and coaches got a great compliment from the other coach and the referee. They both said that we have one of the best coached teams they have ever played against!!

Afterwards, we hurried home, the headed to Commerce. Today was the Alpha Phi's parents day. We didn't make it for the banquet, but we got there, and Lauren showed us around town and campus and the Alpha Phi house. She is doing so well there!! It was great to meet her sisters and some of her new friend's parents. We went to a tail-gating party where we got some good food and fun games and listened to some good music. We also got to meet Devin Wymans, a Defensive Linebacker for the New England Patriots. He had two HUGE super bowl rings on his hand, 1996 & 2004. This man is HUGE!! 6"8" at 335 lbs. He was a GREAT speaker, too. We then headed to the stadium to watch the Texas A&M Commerce Lions football game. It was fun!!! Then the rain came, bummer.
