Gotta love fall and the fall weather!!!

We've gotten some cooler weather and with it has come the ragweed!!!  My nose, ears and eyes are paying the price!!!  My nose and eyes are running and my ears are clogged!!!  I'm walking around with red eyes and nose saying "huh??"

Megan had another soccer game yesterday.  She played the full game....poor thing was pooped when it was over!!!  She had some great kicks that sent the ball back to our offensive side and stopped some break aways.  We won, the final score was 6-0.

Lauren's still in a sling and not showing much improvement.  She is still having lots of pain.  Volleyball is going good.  They are 4-1 in district.  We didn't go to the Cedar Hill game, which was their first loss.  From what I understand, it wasn't a loss....it was taken from them by the officials and parents who called the lines.  The officials were basketball officials and cedar hill parents called the lines, making bad calls against us.  We'll meet them again and in our arena---we will make it a fair fight and will show them how to win without cheating.

My job is going GREAT!!!!  I'm learning lots and having a great time working on the tabloids for the holidays---lots of good sales coming then!!!  I'm making my list!!!

Have a great week!!

Hello WIN Column!!!

Today Megan had a morning soccer game.  It started off really nice, but the sun came out and we were all baking by the end.  The girls started off rocky during the first half, but they got it together and out-scored the opponent 5-2.  Megan is directly responsible with assists for 2 of the goals.  She plays so much like Matt, it's unreal!!!  Matt and Lauren came to support their baby sister today.  That meant more to her than the win!!!

This is one of Megan's assists.  She kicked the from deep in the other team's side to our side, the forward got it and scored!!!

She has the same form as Matt had....she was responsible for all of the goal kicks.

She crosses her fingers when she kicks the ball!

A perfect throw in----dragging her toe!

Good News!!!

Saturday, Lauren was in the weight room when something POPPED in her right shoulder.  She got an instant pain and has been hurting ever since.  We got Joe to look at it and decided we needed an MRI to see if something tore or not.

She had the MRI today and thankfully, no tears!!!  There is some swelling in the muscles in the front and back of the shoulder.  It also looks like she might have some tendonitis in her shoulder, too.  So, she is out for a few weeks and will be going to the trainer for laser therapy and ice.

SOCCER PICTURES

Last night Megan played her first soccer game in a year.  She is a member of the Eagles.  They played a team in Cedar Hill and won 5-0.  Being the visiting team, we got the side of the field with the sun in our eyes!!!  So, not too many good shots without sun glare.

Megan plays soccer like Matt.  She is mean.  She actually got a yellow card for tripping a girl. (oopsie!!)  She also took on this HUGE, GINORMUS girl....they got to the ball at the same time, but unfortunately for Megan, she ended up flying through the air!!!  She was fine and we were laughing about it before the night was over.  Megan plays in the middle, which means she is the first defender when the other team has the ball and she is the offensive player feeding the forwards to score.  She plays again on Saturday and I can't wait to see her in action again!

Izzie's First Birthday

Tonight we celebrated Isabella's First Birthday!!!  She'll actually be one tomorrow.  If you remember this time last year, my sister was in the hospital trying to keep Izzie in for a bit longer.  But here we are a year later and we have the most precious little person laughing, crying, talking and trying to walk to love.

Here are a couple of pictures from tonight.

WHAZZZZZ UPPPPPP??!

Ok, so it's been a week since I've posted, so I thought I'd catch you up on the Johnson's.  First there is Megan.  She is liking her new school, but getting organized has been a bit of a challenge for her!  She'll get it.  She has her first soccer game on Saturday---9 am!!!  Do these people not know we REST and like to sleep in a bit on Saturdays!!!!  Anyways, I'm excited to get to take some soccer action shots!!  I guess with the game being at 9 am, we should be able to get it over with before Hurricane Ike arrives.  They are now predicting a direct hit on DFW by the storm - which should be tropical storm strength by the time it makes it to North Texas.

Lauren is busy with school and volleyball.  She should start her teaching internship on the 25th.  She will be at Alexander Elem.  This is the school she went to when she was little.  She is enjoying her room, but needs to do a bit more on the putting things away.  Tomorrow night is Meet the Teacher night at the high school.  I'm  going while Mike takes Megan to soccer.  I'm curious to see how i'm treated since I have "jumped ship" and moved on.

Matt is good.  He is really enjoying Waco and his school.  He comes up on the weekends to work and always goes back with a truck load of food and goodies.  You know, mom has to sneak little treats in every now and then.  Last week, Mike decided to make his famous caramel popcorn---it was AMAZING!!!!  Matt got home and saw a little bit left and asked Mike to make some for him, of course he did and he had me buy a roast and made jerky, too.

Mike is well, he's helping pick up some of the slack around the house with me in school.  He found a guy who has a possible hunting site.  We knew them years ago when Lauren was playing soccer!!  So, he is really excited about that.  The girls and I are really excited, too!!!  Girls weekends!!!!!

I'm good.  I started my new job on Monday!!  I got started and have run into the governmental red tape!!!  So, I've been shut out of the system for a day or two.  So, needless to say, it has been a bit frustrating!!  Other than that, I'm really excited about my responsibilities and opportunities!!  I'm busy with school right now. I'm  UP to my eyeballs with READING!!!!!  I've got to take a field trip to the museum.  I've got to go for two of my classes, so I hope I hear the assignment from both classes so I can kill two birds with one stone.  I start bells on Sunday.  I'm excited to get back into bells.  I do know we are performing two numbers in the choir's Christmas Cantata.  So, I'm thrilled about that!

As you can read, we are all fine, busy, but fine!!!  Have a good week.  Hopefully, I will have some great pictures to post this weekend.

Today I got the official notice that I have FINALLY gotten hired on Full Time at the company I work for:

I cannot mention the name in my blog or they will find
it and post it all over the company email system.
I've learned a lesson, when I wrote about seeing the
company semi-truck in the 4th of July Parade,
that entry was emailed out--potato salad & nanner puddin'
included!!!  So, you can move to July4th's entry to see
who I'm talking about.

I am now the Production Coordinator for the Marketing/Advertising Department!!!  I'm so thrilled.  I start on Monday.   I have had to put up with a LOT of government policies and procedures and red-tape trying to get a job and then this one was even messier!!!  So, now I'm Jumping for Joy!!!

Sheeeeeee's Baaaaack!

Tonight Lauren made it back on the court.  She was a little sore making her over-handed swings, but she sucked it up and had some good digs and was on the receiving end of some HARD kills!!  Aunt Cara, Alyssa, Jake & Anthony came out to watch her play--Aunt Cara witnessed the super dig!

Quick Update on the rooms

Here are a few pictures of the front porch now that the planter boxes are finished and my Lantanas are growing nicely.  I have two pots of Begonias on the porch

This is Megan's Room.  We have moved her in, hung the blinds and shelving.  We haven't moved everything in the room, yet.  But, it is sleepable tonight.  Megan is excited!  Megan is on her bed enjoying a movie.

Another view of Megan's Room

This is Lauren's Room.  She finally got some time to get most of her stuff unpacked.  She didn't want me to paint her shelves blue to match her trim.

Another view of Lauren's room and her Boy Collage!!  They are both happy with their rooms!  Mike and I are pleased with the way they turned out!!  Thank you Mr. H!!!!!!

We've decided we want to do this to the rest of the house!!!  OY!!!  We want to tear down the paneling in the den, entry way & kitchen, texture the walls and paint.  First we need get the computer/craft/storage room set up.

Lauren got her car this summer.  Since school has started the big thing (as it is every year) is to tag cars.  Here are some pictures of Lauren's tagged car.

1 year anniversary

Tomorrow will be the 1 year anniversary of dad's death.  I still can't believe he's gone and that it has been a year.  I posted pictures of dad doing what he LOVED--fishing.  The 4th picture is of the three of us with dad & his wife at their wedding.  Unfortunately, things have not worked out for the best, it is a year later and dad does not have a headstone on his grave.  And being adult children, we don't have a lot of say in how things happen.  So, we aren't sure when his marker will be laid.

The last picture is of the grave-site when we buried him.  The military had flags lining the way to the grave.  It was nice to see.
