Lady of Leisure!!

Yesterday was my last day at DHS!! whoo-hoo!!! I have one day off before I start my new job at AAFES. So, did I sleep in this morning??? NO!!! My internal alarm clock went off as usual. I got up, made Meg's lunch, took more pictures of the babies and am now surfing the net. I will be getting ready soon to run my errands. But before I leave, I will be posting a couple more pictures of the babies.

2 dogs + 2 cats + 4 kittens = 8 PETS!!!!!

We got home from school today and couldn't find Itchi anywhere!! Lauren and I got flashlights and started searching everywhere!!! I was afraid that Matt might have let her in the house, well, she got in the laundry room. Little did I know she had already found a nesting spot, under the dinning room table we have stored in there!!! They are so cute! The runt has a white face and there are a couple with beautiful tiger stripes.

If anyone wants a precious little kitten in about 12 weeks, let me know.

Something very cool happened last night!!!

So, if you read yesterdays post, Itchi isn't letting anyone hold her right now. Well, I was sitting in the recliner and she came be-bopping in the room. I decided to try to pick her up. SHE LET ME!! So, I'm reclined in the chair with her in my lap. I have my hands gently on her stomach and guess what!!! I felt her babies moving. It was so funny, I felt one in my left hand, one on my right hand and I could feel one moving underneath her on my stomach!!! It was so-o-o-o cool actually feeling the movement of these little lives.

I had Lauren come over to feel it. There was a big move across Itchi's stomach. Lauren jumped about 10 feet in the air. It was so funny!!!

I'm thinking 4 kittens--hopefully, we'll know soon!!!

On Baby watch!!!!

We are watching Itchi closely!!! She should be having her kittens any day now!! She is showing some signs of getting ready to deliver. We have a box with old sheets and towels in the garage for her. We hope it happens while we are at home. We have never seen kittens being born, and for Vet Megan, it would be very educational and for photographer me, GREAT pictures!!!

I got an email yesterday that had a lion seeing the woman who rescued him when he was malnourised. She nursed him back to health over a 4-5 year period. He did finally get so big, she had to find him a good zoo to go to. The video started with her walking to the cage. The lion sees her and stands up, puts his paws through the cage and brings her in for a hug!!! He actually brings her in for a kiss!!! He then turned his head sideways, hugging her. He wanted through that cage and you could see he wanted to get out and just hug her. that video reminded me so much of how Itchi and Megan relate to each other. When Lauren and I get home, Itchi will just start meowing until Megan walks through the front door. That cat will run up to her and Megan will scoop her up and they hug each other!! Itchi closes her eyes and just nuzzles into Megan. It is so-o-o cute. Lately, Itchi hasn't wanted to be picked up because of her bulging belly. Mike and I have tried to pick her up and if we rub her the wrong way, we get gentle claws letting us know we've rubbed the wrong spot. Megan is the only one who can pick her up with out getting clawed!! She was sitting there last night rubbing her belly, pushing around on her growing tummy and boobs and Itchi just sat there letting her do it. They are so funny together!!

Hopefully, I will have pictures of the new mommy and babies soon!! And, if any of you want a kitten, we will have some to give away in a few weeks!! Let me know!!!

Three and a half hours!!!

With the new job, insurance will be changing, so I needed to get some dental work done before the change. I went for my cleaning on Monday and two of my teeth needs root canals. SO, I sucked it up and sat in the dental chair for 3 1/2 hours for back to back root canals!! Of course, it wasn't cut and dry, I had to have "Special" teeth that required little extras. My very back top molar was crumbling, so the dentist had to build a filling to put the drape on, plus there was an extra socket to drill out!! And the 2nd tooth had extra-long sockets, so that ment a little extra drilling!!! Thank goodness I had my iPod on and could crank it up to drown out the drilling noise!!

I'm home, my left side of my face is still numb. I had so much numbing juice that my eye and nose were effected!! I do have some really good drugs, so I'm not in any pain, so lets hope they keep working!!!

Don't forget to check out the eclipse tonight!

Lunch with a Dallas Cowboy!!!

One of our students knows a couple of the Cowboys, so he set up the chance to interview them for our Media Tech's News show. So as part of the day, they set up a luncheon in our Culinary Arts class.

So, I got to meet (L)Kevin Burnett, #57, a linebacker for the Cowboys and (R) Jason Griffin. I don't think he plays for the Cowboys, but he was HUGE.

A Very Cool Photo shoot!!!

On Wednesday, I got the chance to shoot a group picture for a poster. It was for the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). In the background, they arranged for a Care Flite Helicopter to land on Panther Field. It was TOOOOOO Cool!!! Here are a couple of pictures from the landing.

Waiting!!!!

I'll admit it, I love today's society where you can get anything instantly!!! You can go online, send a message, chat with a friend, download the newest music, SHOP, to name a few!! I love how quick everything can come together, without having to WAIT too long.

So, right now, I have something going on that I'm having to WAIT on (I'll fill you in once I know something)!!! This is driving me CRAZY!!! I'm not one for patience, I would like to know now, so I can move on, etc.

Ok, my hissy fit is over. I feel somewhat better, but would feel better IF I KNEW!!!! And NO, I'm not waiting to find out if I'm pregnant!

Trying to get back to the land of the living!!!

Mike started us off on Saturday, not feeling well----he had the FLU!!! Being the generous guy he is, he gave it to me and Megan!! I've been home for three days with fever, chills, horrible cough & stuffed up head. Megan has bounced back quickly, but I'm still dragging. I am starting to feel better, but my nose is still stuffed and that lovely coughis hanging on!!!

Megan' s leg is healed and she is walking now. I think when she goes back to school on Monday, I'm going to have her wear her brace in her shoe, because I know she will go crazy during recess and PE!!

Have a great weekend and stay well!!

Happy Birthday Matt!!!

Today Matt is 19!! Mike was the first to tell him happy birthday. He stuck his head in his room at 6:15 am and yelled "Happy Birthday, Man, now go back to sleep." I semi-heard it in my sleepy state and it was funny. Like any 19 year old adult, he's working today!! I guess that's life.

Megan Update

Well, we went for the x-ray this afternoon. NO BROKEN bones!!! Unfortunately, there is still swelling, so she has a serious strain/sprain. She is wearing a brace (we called 8 different pharmacies looking for it, just to find out it is an Active Ankle--what Lauren wears to protect her ankles when she plays volleyball!!!) and is on crutches for at least a week. We will try putting pressure on her foot in a week, if it doesn't hurt, she can put away the crutches, if not, it's back on the crutches. She's done with volleyball for about 3 weeks---we'll play it by ear.

Tomorrow Lauren is playing in a tourney, so Meg and I will be staying home with her foot elevated.
